Saints Row 2 has crazier stuff to do, but to me it gets older a little bit faster than GTA. Rolling 16 deep, messing with cops, racing bad ass cars through digital NY was fun as hell for me. Playing with friends online and doing crazy jumps off of really high buildings into another friends helicopter blades and flying across the map to your death was a lot of fun. Just because they took out a few things from a previous version doesn't mean the game was crappy. Don't know why people always have to hate. I had enough fun for the money I spent on both of the games.
It seems people just forget how to have fun. Saints Row and GTAIV both were a blast for me. And it uses the same tech with a couple years tweaking. What OPEN world game looks better? I can't name one besides RDR.
